It's important that our guests leave with the fond memories of the good time they had here at Country Watchdog and nothing more. For the sake and health of other guests, the following no-no's will not be allowed:
- Dogs with fleas and ticks: Your dog will be inspected at the first "meet and greet" and possibly every time thereafter upon arrival. If either fleas or ticks (or both) are present, you have two options: 1) A flea and tick bath will be given by us ($25.00 charge), or 2) You can leave and come back when you have a flea & tick-free dog.
- Non-vaccinated dogs: Your dog needs to be up to date on vaccinations for Rabies, Parvo, Bordetella and Distemper before joining the other guests. You may be asked for proof upon arrival. If you don't have proof in hand, we can call your vet for confirmation, if you'd like.
- Aggressive, combative dogs: Upon arrival, your dog will be slowly introduced to other guests. We understand that the initial meet and greet can be somewhat taxing on some dogs and a dominance issue may arise. All efforts will be taken to calm the situation so everyone can get along with limited supervision. If, after several attempts, it is clear that any and all attempts are futile, your pet will not be allowed entrance to our facility at that time. However, we would encourage you to return and try again another day. Your pooch may have just been having a bad day.
- Sick dogs: If your dog is sick (i.e. kennel cough, fever, digestive disorders, etc.) please come back when he or she is well. My boys will pass along much Setter Zen to your pet for a speedy recovery.
- Females in heat: In-heat females can present a real problem with males at the facility. Fighting between males may arise, or you may end up with an unexpected bundle of joy. Please wait until your girl has completed her cycle before being admitted to Country Watchdog.
